Colors play an integral role in our daily lives, they influence the way we function or perform, whether one is an artist, designer or simple layperson, possessing the ability to mix and blend colors within a creative manner creates new possibilities within any type of endeavor one embarks upon.
Blue is a color, the perception of which is evoked by light having a spectrum dominated by energy with a wavelength of roughly 440–490nm. It is considered one of the additive primary colors. On the HSV Color Wheel, the complement of blue is yellow; that is, a color corresponding to an equal mixture of red and green light. On a color wheel based on traditional color theory (RYB), the complementary color to blue is considered to be orange (based on the Munsell color wheel). The English language commonly uses “blue” to refer to any color from navy blue to cyan. The word itself is derived from the Old French word bleu.
Blue is deemed as an overwhelming “favorite color”, it iis perceived as trustworthy, dependable, and committed and is one of the most common colors chosen as being a favorite.
The color of ocean and sky, blue is perceived as a constant in our lives, and the collective color of the spirit; it invokes rest and can cause the body to produce chemicals that are calming. Blue is the least “gender specific” color, having equal appeal to both men and women.
Blue happens one of the most widely used colors within web design because it gives a cleaner and brighter look to your website and has the ability to attract the user and make a deep lasting impression. Blue is often used across a wide variety of website designs. It is a preferred color for corporate design, and as such you will find it used quite often in big company websites, and especially saw a new blooming era after Twitter became such a huge hit.
